Our Faculty First professional development series is designed for faculty that lack formal training in teaching, proposal writing, and/or entrepreneurship. Our incubators provide a fixed price service with a specific project deliverable. Our coaches provide personalized consultation at an hourly rate. Our webinars are synchronous, low cost, and outcomes based.

Entrepreneurship
Designed for inventors--both faculty and small business owners--our webinar guides you through each step in the technology translation process, from invention to product. Exercises and tools lead to a development strategy. Topics include benchmarks, viability, market analysis, patenting, and readiness. Check out Upcoming Events .

Customized Workshops
We will work with organization to customize workshops for on-site group visits and training. Topics focus on research strategies and innovation, including proposal writing basics, differentiation, and AI-enabled tools. The workshop culminates in development and evaluation of a proposal outline and summary, with interactive peer review.

Faculty First Academic Innovation
Students learn better when faculty teach better, and productive faculty supply the innovation pipeline. Schedule a goal-setting meeting for our Education Incubator or work with our academic coach.

Innovation Commons
We provide both a public Commons and a Members only Innovation Commons. The latter is a curated on-line networking platform for continued engagement, including archived workshops and a discussion forum with tips, tricks, and shared resources, available to monthly subscribers.

Jerry is a registered professional engineer with active licenses in Colorado and Montana. He is CEO and Founder of J.P. Downey & Associates, P.L.L.C. His 40+ years of professional experience includes industrial operations, applied process research and development, and corporate management. His technical expertise includes chemical and metallurgical thermodynamics, thermal processing, materials synthesis and processing, and hazardous materials treatment..

Kumar Ganesan, Ph.D., P.E.
Environmental Engineering & Management
Kumar is a registered professional engineer in Montana and a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer. He is the founder and CEO of Energy and Environmental Research and Technology (E2RTECH) and CEO and founder of Institute for Science, Engineering and Arts (ISEA). His 50+ years of experience includes air quality engineering, pollution prevention, sustainability, energy and industrial ecology. His experience spans academia, an international government agency, private consulting, and the US EPA.

Kat Fitzgerald-McCormick, Ed.S.
Educational Coaching and Academic Innovation
Kat is an experienced leader in instructional design, faculty development, assessment of learning outcomes, and distance learning, with over 25 years of experience in higher education. She strives to integrate design thinking into education, and excels at fostering innovation, improving instructional effectiveness, and aligning digital learning with institutional goals.

Lance Revenaugh, Ph.D.
Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, Management
Lance holds a Ph.D. in Decision and Information Systems, a BBA in Management. and an MBA. To Headframes, he brings experience in entrepreneurship and innovation, impact factors on technology transfer, Information systems strategy and alignment, business systems analysis and redesign, enterprise systems , decision support systems, and global information management and strategy.

Angela D. Lueking, Ph.D.
Research Strategies, Proposal Development, Gas Storage
Angela founded Headframes to integrate her passions in
research strategy, team building, mentoring, technical innovation, and
entrepreneurship. As an academic, she led projects in new material development
for gas storage, surface science, catalysis, hydrogen, and energy. As a federal program manager, she developed a passion
for mentoring and an understanding of what differentiates a winning scientific
proposal.

Basic Proposal Development
Contract preliminary proposal strategy development to a seasoned research administrator and former federal program manager. Strategy development, intermediate technical review by experts within the Network, and final constructive and technical review. Upgrades available for delivery of the full proposal package. Prices start at $500 per page for technical content creation (minimum $1000)

Process Viability Assessment
A screening evaluation of new processes and upgrades, including technical feasibility and readiness, estimated return on investment, supply chain readiness, criticality, confidence, sensitivity to likely sociopolitical variabilities, and environmental impact. Pricing will vary based on your requirements and timeline; fixed price packages are available. Prices start at $2500 for a preliminary assessment or position statement.

Technical Writing
Effective communication is the key differentiator of a winning idea. Our editors review proposals against goals and an impact rubric, revise for style, and edit for grammatical and mechanical accuracy. Pricing starts at $100/hour, but may vary based on your timeline and needs. Fixed price packages are available.
